Research Associate, Oregon Zoo, Portland, OR - 2006–2007.

Completed nonfiction narrative documentation of a year in the zoo’s Oregon Silverspot Butterfly Conservation Project.


Conservation Intern, Oregon Zoo, Portland, OR - Sep–Dec 2005.

Assisted with data collection and analysis in the zoo’s Butterfly Lab; wrote a grant application that resulted in a $2,000 grant for the lab.


Teaching Experience

Workplace ESL Tutor, Portland Community College, CAPITAL Center, Beaverton, OR - 2002–2003.

Tutored Basic Literacy group with in-class readings, including pronunciation and comprehension. Corrected homework. Assisted teachers in Workplace English writing classes.

Taught customized accent reduction classes for privately-sponsored courses.
