I've been a freelance writer since 2001 and earned an MA in Writing from Portland State University in 2007. During my graduate studies, I completed science writing internships at the Oregon Zoo (Portland, OR), Fermi National Accelerator Lab (Batavia, IL), and Psychology Today magazine (NYC). Prior to my life as a freelance writer, I worked as an ESL teacher, marketing associate, and in events coordination.

On a personal note, I enjoy swing dancing, fencing (épée), watching horror movies, and cheering the Steelers on to victory. Oh, and I'm learning to play the euphonium. *Blat!*
